Going to the chapel!

Every bride spends days, months and years thinking about, designing and creating their wedding gown.  What you wear on this incredible day will be shown in photo’s and video’s for years to come.  But what about what you wear before you get into your gown?  This can be just as important!

There are so many options to choose from and what you wear should reflect your personality and the style of wedding you are having.

It’s important, also, to keep in mind that you will need to be able to get changed easily without disturbing your hair or make up.

Cotton, Satin or silk robes are a beautiful option and make wonderful gifts for your bridesmaids.

They can be monogrammed with just about anything!

Or you may prefer cute personalised singlets for a bit of fun!

and don’t forget your feet!  These thongs are great if you are planning on painting your toe’s or just for comfort!

Whatever you wear, just make sure what you choose is comfortable, relaxed and makes you feel pretty!

Lots of love,

The Wedding Artists

This kiss, this kiss.

Is there any other more important moment in a girls life than the first kiss with her new husband?  Whether it be in front of two or two hundred guests the first kiss as a married couple is one to remember for the rest of your life.

The tradition of kissing at the conclusion of the ceremony is one filled with religion and history.  Some Christians believe that the kiss symbolises the exchange of souls between the bride and groom, fulfilling the scripture that “The two shall become one flesh”.  In Ancient Roman times, the kiss signified the completion of a contract.

Kissing as a newly married couple is not a formal requirement but it is a wonderful way to start a new marriage.

A Traditional way of getting the bride and groom to kiss is by clinking glasses.  Ancient traditions say that the noise scares away the devil.

You may now kiss your bride!

A Blue & Silver Christmas Wedding….

Hello!  We were so excited when Prettychickx3 asked The Wedding Artists to help her with some ideas for her Blue and Silver Christmas Themed Wedding.  What a beautiful theme for a wedding! We have tonnes of ideas to create her dream wedding!

Firstly, Prettychickx3, we thought these were the perfect way to bring some blue into your wedding dress.

Then we saw this cake and thought it would look perfect with some silver Christmas baubles instead of the flowers to bring in the Christmas theme.

For the Wedding Invitation we loved this idea.  Print your invitation on a ribbon and put it inside a Christmas Bauble.  So pretty and what a beautiful keepsake for all your guests.  They can add it to their Christmas tree to remember your special day.

How amazing is this for a table centrepiece????  A gorgeous Wedding table decoration but still bringing in the Christmas theme.  You could add blue and silver balls with the fairy lights if you would like more colour.

Here is a really simple idea to bring blue and silver into your wedding favours.

And for an incredible, stunning one of a kind bouquet we are just falling in love with these vintage jewelled bouquets.

Let us know what you think, Prettychickx3!

L is for Love and Lolly buffet

We know the Lolly Buffet is huge in the U.S and now it is becoming extremely popular here as well.

A lolly buffet is a cute and colourful way to get your guests mingling after dinner.  It can also be a bridesmaid to your greatest centrepiece - Your Wedding Cake.

So how do you make a lolly buffet?

The secret to a great lolly buffet is to load it up with lollies.  You can choose a colour theme to tie in with your wedding theme ….

or just go all out and create a beautiful, colourful centrepiece

The lolly buffet can also double as wedding favours.  Encourage your guests to fill up a bag to take home.  Have gorgeous paper bags on each table and ask your MC to let your guests know to fill them up!

Your buffet can also include cupcakes, popcorn, a fairy floss machine or a chocolate fountain!  The list is endless!

Everyone loves a lolly buffet!  Let us know if you are going to have one at your wedding…….we’d love to be invited!

Honeymoon Booking

When booking your honeymoon it is good to have a budget in mind. Finding a great travel agent that is willing to go the extra mile for you can really make a difference.  Ask friends who they have used before, getting a referral from those you trust is the best way to find great people. From my recent experience we had a destination in mind and a few recommended hotels.

Step 1: Find a travel agent that is proactive and passionate about what they do! The Wedding Artists can happily reccommend some fantastic agents, just contact us.

Step 2: Google tripadvisor to read what previous guests had to say about their stay/experience. Check out the photos taken by guests as these can differ dramatically to the touched up professional shots on the website.

Step 2: Get quotes on your chosen hotels but also ask the travel agent to make reccommendations. Make sure you look at a map and know where you are staying and how far from the main area you are.

Step 3: Ask for Honeymoon inclusions, such as flowers arrangement, champagne, massages, cocktails, dinner for 2!

Step 4: Get another quote. Don’t be afraid to go to another travel agent and get a cross quote.

Step 5: Make sure you have travel insurance!

Step 6: Have the most amazing honeymoon! :)

Wedding Makeup & Hair Trial

With my wedding fast approaching I booked in my hair & makeup trial. As the gorgeous talented artists from The Wedding Artists arrived at my house I was excited to explore how I was going to look on my special day.  I quickly learnt that there are some tips for getting the most out of your trial.

  • Choose Artists that you want around on the day, it is a very special and emotional day so having the right kind of people around you in really important.
  • BE PREPARED, look for reference of what you want and keep in mind that the hair and makeup is going to look different on you to the reference shot.
  • Have the hair done first so you can focus on one thing at a time.
  • Have someone you trust there to give their opinion.
  • Take photos so you can refer back to be sure you are 100% happy.
  • If you are wearing a veil, head piece or comb I strongly reccommend having the pieces at the trial so you can see how it will all come together on the day.
  • If you are not 100% happy book another trial, you do not want to feel unsure on the day.
  • If you can have a bridesmaid there and have a trial done for them also.
  • Be open and honest. If you don’t like what you see let your artist know, as experienced artists the will be able to deliver exactly what you want but you need to communicate with them to get the result you are after.

Hope these tips help and you are the stunning bride you always dreamt of!
